Sojourn Heights Church is one local church within Sojourn Houston, which is a family of neighborhood churches joining the Father, Son, and Spirit in the historic work of redemption, one neighborhood at a time. Sojourn Houston churches are marked by shared beliefs, a shared mission and vision, shared values and a shared philosophy of ministry (the Neighborhood Parish).
Sojourn Houston is organically connected by a network of Neighborhood Parishes, which serve as the backbone of all we do. Historically, the word "parish" has been used to refer to the church in a particular geographic area. Our Parishes are groups of men, women, and children living life together as smaller expressions of the church, gathering together, sharing meals, serving their neighbors, and learning to follow Jesus together in the context of everyday life.
The following staff members serve in their positions in either a full-time or part-time capacity:
As a staff member, Brandon is the Pastor of Preaching & Vision. He oversees Sojourn’s preaching ministry and provides leadership to the Council of Elders.
Drew's primary focus on staff is to work towards seeing the Heights saturated with healthy neighborhood parishes that focus on making disciples, multiplying parishes, and planting churches.
As a staff member, Dods is the Pastor of Care & Counseling. He works to provide pastoral care and counseling for those in need both inside and outside of our church.
As Sojourn Heights' Executive Director, Andrew's primary focus is to effectively implement Sojourn’s vision. He provides leadership to the staff, structure to ministry processes, and oversees the general administration and operation of the church.
As Sojourn Heights' Administrative Manager, Charlotte manages our finances, facilities, and church-wide events. She also serves as a pastoral assistant.
As Director of Gathered Worship, JJ leads the band, helps to foster a culture of worship, and oversees artistic expression for all of Sojourn Houston.
As the Sojourn Kids Coordinator, Caitlin oversees the Sojourn children’s ministry, working alongside parents to raise kids who love and follow Jesus.
Our pastors oversee Sojourn's doctrine, discipline, and direction. They may or may not be paid by the church.
