Get Connected!

There are three primary ways to get connected: neighborhood parishes, Sojourn Online, and membership.

Join a Neighborhood Parish

The best way to become a part of what’s going on at Sojourn is to join and serve a neighborhood parish. Sojourn's parishes are smaller expressions of the church as a gospel family. A neighborhood parish is more than a bible study, a mid-week meeting, a support group, or social activist club. We aim to love one another and serve the people in our surrounding neighborhoods in an everyday, life-on-life approach. Because our neighborhood parishes live out the mission of God together in a specific area, location is the most important thing to consider in choosing a parish. The map below will show you where all of our parishes are located.

Every neighborhood parish welcomes children. Some parishes choose to fully integrate children into the weekly gatherings, and other parishes opt for a partially integrated approach with childcare and adult-only discussion. Ultimately, we believe children are active participants in the life of the church. We enthusiastically pursue both age-appropriate learning and multi-generational community.

We were never meant to live out our spiritual journey in isolation. Read below if you are interested in membership at Sojourn.

By God's design, we depend upon one another for growth, progress, and effectiveness. The Bible knows nothing of a Christian untethered to a local congregation.

The local church is a visible, tangible, real-world expression of the body of Christ (Ephesians 3:10-11). Covenanting with a local church avails us to the diverse gifts, talents, strengths, and prayers it provides. It identifies us with Christ and provides a communal context wherein we can obey God's communal commands with the secure knowledge that we are meaningfully committed to one another as brothers and sisters.

We highly encourage you to register below for our next covenant membership class. A class will be held the months of February, May, August, and November each year. By registering, you're in no way obligated to join, but this is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn all there is to know about Sojourn's vision, beliefs, and methods.

Baptism

We believe Jesus addresses His church, not only through Scripture, but also through sacraments. A sacrament is a tangible and visible sign of a Christian person’s participation in divine grace. We believe Jesus instituted two such signs during His time on Earth: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is an initiating sacrament that marks belonging to the family of God. Baptism symbolizes union with Christ and consecration to Him as Lord, the forsaking of sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil. At Sojourn Heights Church, we baptize professing members only, and each covenant member is required to be baptized in accordance with Jesus' instruction. If you've not yet been baptized, or if you'd like to learn more about baptism, please register for our next class below:
